Gevalia House Blend - Review
After drinking it several weeks in a row, I am excited to share my thoughts on Gevalia’s House Blend. This medium roast coffee is described as having smooth, balanced flavors with notes of caramel and citrus. Although I didn’t know it when we picked it up the first time, this flavor combo quickly became a warm-weather favorite.
Gevalia House Blend has a finer grind that produces a moderate bloom. Right away it has an earthy aroma with a sweet note to finish. Those same aromas turn into vibrant flavors and the citrus – orange citrus – is perfectly paired with the sweet, smooth caramel. As described! Although a touch more acidic because of the citrus and medium roast (compared to the dark roast we usually drink), House Blend sits well on the palate and isn’t too acidic for those with sensitive stomachs.
Gevalia has been roasting coffee in Sweden since 1853 and knows a thing or two about balancing flavors. You cannot last 150 years in the coffee business, let alone grow into a global coffee icon, if you aren’t dedicated to quality coffee and intricate roasting. Every bag of Gevalia coffee allows you to taste the attention to detail and pride in their product. And if you want a medium roast coffee that has bright, smooth flavors, Gevalia’s House Blend is a great daily drinker.
Cheers,
Mrs. Brew
